Ingredients

  • 1 lb sweet potatoes peeled and cut into 3/4-inch cubes
  • 1 tbsp neutral oil
  • 0.25 tsp kosher salt
  • 1 tbsp brown sugar packed light
  • 0.5 tsp ground cinnamon

Equipment

  • 1 5-quart air fryer

Method

  1. Preheat a 5-quart air fryer to 380°F for 3 minutes.
  2. Toss the sweet potato cubes with the oil and salt in a bowl until evenly coated.
  3. Arrange the cubes in a single layer in the air fryer basket.
  4. Cook at 380°F for 12 to 16 minutes, shaking the basket halfway through, until browned and fork-tender.
  5. Sprinkle the brown sugar and cinnamon over the hot cubes.
  6. Toss to coat, then return them to the basket.
  7. Cook for 1 to 2 minutes, until the sugar melts and clings to the cubes.

Notes

For even browning, avoid crowding the air fryer basket. Refrigerate leftovers for up to 4 days; freezing is possible, though the cubes may soften when reheated. For a less refined sweetener, use coconut sugar in place of the brown sugar.
